The Forbidden City in Bejing, China, has a fascinating history. It was built in 1420 and was the Chinese imperial palace and winter residence of the Emperors of China between 1420 and 1924. This photo is of the Tiananmen Gate, decorated with a portrait of Mao Zedong.
